I use a tank heater in the winter time for my outside fountain to keep the water from freezing. In past winters I have used the type with the glass tube over the heating part and they have always broken on my. So when I saw this one with everything enclosed with a plastic material instead of glass I was excited to give it a try. It is working great and I think it will last me more than 1 winter without breaking.
